Opportunities for Scholarship That Will Advance the Teaching Practices
After meeting with the preceptor, I identified several areas of strength in my lesson plan. First, I provided clear and concise goals and objectives that gave an overview of the content and skills I would teach in the lesson plan. I also had a well-structured lesson plan that included various activities, assessments, and evaluation methods. My lesson plan incorporated evidence-based practices and resources to support learning. The preceptor also identified several areas for improvement. They suggested that I further refine my lesson plan by being more specific about the assessments and evaluation methods that I would use. Given this feedback, I plan to incorporate scholarship and evidence-based practices into my lesson plan using resources from journals, textbooks, and websites. I will also use the input from the preceptor to further refine my lesson plan and ensure my objectives, activities, and assessments are closely aligned.

Additionally, I could explore different teaching strategies tailored to different learning styles. The other aspect entailed attending conferences and workshops related to teaching and education to stay up to date on the latest teaching strategies and gain insight from experienced educators.

My preceptor's feedback indicated that my lesson plan was comprehensive and well thought out. He appreciated the amount of work I had put into the program and the level of detail that I had included. He felt that the objectives were well-defined and that the activities incorporated in the plan were appropriate for the classroom setting. He also commented positively on my use of visuals and the inclusion of an assessment tool to evaluate the student's learning. My preceptor suggested that I should include more discussion-based activities in the plan in areas that need improvement. He felt this would facilitate more student engagement and provide an opportunity for deeper understanding and more interactive elements in the lesson, such as role plays and simulations. Lastly, he recommended that I create a more structured timeline for the class to ensure I cover all concepts in the allotted time.
