An action that appears totally or obviously inappropriate for one person could be entirely moral for another individual simultaneously. In this way, every person posses a set of ethics, morals, and values that are cultivated over time and influenced by their life encounters. This report will determine and examine diverse worldview theories that Doctor Wilson, Jessica, Marco, and Aunt Maria identity with and apply to identify and influence the moral condition and recommendations for the unborn baby within the case study.
Christianity and Nature of Persons, Moral Status Theory, and Relationship to Intrinsic Human Value and Dignity
The Christian conception of human persons’ nature holds that human beings are created in God’s image. Human creations have a conscience that helps them determine what is wrong or right since they are made in God’s image or imago Dei. This implies human beings have some divine marks in two avenues: First, they are made by design as well as with a purpose. Second, they have specific capabilities that incorporate the employment of reason and the capacity to comprehend and hold moral truths. The Christian view is compatible with normative ethics since God’s universe comprises ethical rules, just like it the case for physical laws. God’s moral rules are normative for humans in they ought to abide by them. The Christian viewpoint of humans relates to intrinsic human value and dignity in that it holds that humans have God’s attributes, which the creator inherently and freely gives: the ability to forgive, reason, love, possess knowledge and wisdom, as well as to cultivate a personal relationship with their maker (Bogue & Hogan, 2020). Therefore, God instilled his image (spirit) into each person.
