In the first module, we studied how the government can play a role in providing and regulating the funding of the health care system. At both the state and federal levels, utmost attention is being paid to strengthening the healthcare system by the whole (Maruyama et al., 2016). The government has at its disposal a toolbox of public policy and law tools in order to ensure public health. The purpose of the law is to examine the government at different jurisdictional levels, ensuring the health and wellbeing of people belonging to different social norms. The state and federal governments can be found focusing on the duties of the government to achieve health-related goals. They can limit the power or cancel the license of certain medical centers that are involved in unethical practices. The federal government funds health-related projects and the state government establishes new medical centers and teaching hospitals in order to help young doctors and nurses gain more and more knowledge and boost their performance. Another goal is to apply legal tools to public health problems that are associated with injuries and diseases. For example, physicians and nurses are abode by the rules and regulations that are meant to help patients recover from different infectious and non-infectious diseases. At the same time, they are motivated to educate people on how to live a healthy and active life and how to avoid injuries. Legislation, litigation, and regulation are applied both by the state and federal governments, and this law is used as the most powerful way to ensure public health.
