Nursing leadership has become very prominent in the healthcare system across the world. The need to provide quality patient care in a cost effective manner has been emphasized greatly in the healthcare hence the need for nurse leadership. The use of evidence based health care has been enabled through the provision of quality leadership among the nurses in a healthcare unit (Registered Nursing Organization, 2017). My interview focused on this area of specialization. I interviewed a young master’s graduate who was accredited as a clinical nurse leader by the Commission on Nursing Accreditation in the year 2011. She has been working as a clinical nurse leader for three years now and has future plans of advancing his education. She believes strongly that proper leadership and management within a healthcare system is solely responsible for the positive patient outcomes in a cost effective manner.

After her high school she joined the American University of Health Sciences and graduated in the year 2004 with a Bachelors of Science degree. She was accredited by the California state and has been practicing in the state of California. She practiced for three years and later went back to the American University of Health Science and graduated with an MSN degree in the year 2010. She later was promoted at her place of work to become the clinical nurse leader leading a team of physicians, nurse specialists, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and social workers.
Reason for seeking graduate education
The interviewee informed me that she chose to take a career in nursing in his early years of growth. When she was growing up she experienced her mother get sick of cancer and she felt she really needed to do something but she had no idea what she needed to do. She said that she felt her bachelor’s degree was not enough to help him achieve his dreams of alleviating suffering from the patients. She chose to advance to the MSN after she approached a colleague at the work place and informed her of her willingness and spirit to reduce pain and achieve quality care among the patients. While at work she always felt things were not going well the way she expected and when she shared it out with her colleague she advised her to go for a nurse leadership course in order to be in charge of the team. She felt that when she gets to be in charge she could achieve the outcomes and initiate the changes she had desired.
