I was as really bothered by the fact that selling and "donating" eggs and sperm is actually becoming a business. People are paying up to $150,000 to buy eggs or sperm from supermodels. One sperm bank offers sperm donations from only scientists with an I.Q. of over 135. Healthy, young, Ivy-league donors are being offered up to $50,000 for their "donations." Need some quick cash? I'll bet if your good-looking and score above a 28 on your ACT test, you could get at least $1,000 for your sperm!
What happens if the purchasers of the gamete find that the final product does not meet expectations. Who is to be held responsible and what will be the attitude of the parents about the child? Selling selected gametes might potentially lead to the selection of genes—meaning genetically engineered human beings.

1.) Is it ethical to commercialize and sell eggs and sperm for reproduction?

Advances in biological research have allowed human beings to make improvements in their lives. However, these advances have also brought on board more questions concerning human values and ethics. A good example of this is with regard to eggs and sperm donation for reproduction. The commercialization of eggs and sperms for reproduction raises ethical questions, but I do not think it is unethical. One of the main reasons why I think so is because, through commercialization, people are able to acquire what they do not have. In this sense, if they were unable to have a child on their own, they can now get sperms or eggs from others. Unlike other organs donation, sperms and eggs are different because raising a child is not a matter of life and death.
