Conduct research concentrating on the anatomical structure of organelles. Based on your research and understanding, provide your response to the following tasks:1] Analyze the anatomical structure of ten different organelles in the cell and their respective functions.Endoplasmic reticulum (ER)
The ER The endoplasmic reticulum is a network of interconnected sacs, tubes, and channels involved in functions related to protein synthesis. It distributes, collects, stores, and transports the proteins made in ribosomes. It also makes lipids and builds the nuclear membrane.
Golgi apparatus
It is made up of structures called dictyosomes (depending on the type of cell). These dictyosomes are composed of about 4-8 membrane-bound saccules or cisternae surrounded by a membrane stacked on top of each other and whose function is to complete the manufacture of some proteins. They are formed by one or more dictyosomes, a parallel grouping of discoidal saccules or membranous cisternae. The organelle packages and distributes proteins it receives from the endoplasmic reticulum.
Mitochondria
The mitochondria are cylindrical and are bounded by a double membrane, the outer mitochondrial membrane, which separates cytosol from the inner mitochondrial membrane, folding inward, increasing its surface. The mitochondria perform cellular respiration. The organelle transforms organic matter into energy (ATP).
Lysosomes
These are vesicles that come from the Golgi apparatus. They have a membrane, and inside they contain acidic hydrolase enzymes that, to be active, need an acidic pH to be maintained. These are small membranous spheres that store digestive enzymes that help digest food.
Ribosomes
The ribosomes are small organelles globular without membrane, and they make up of proteins (ribonucleoproteins ) associated with ribonucleic acids ribosomal (rRNA) from the nucleolus. They synthesize proteins according to the deciphered code of messenger RNA, which in turn is a copy of DNA.
Centrioles
These are cylindrical organelles composed of tubulin protein. There are cylindrical microtubules that form cilia and flagella and facilitate cell division in animal cells.
Peroxisomes
The peroxisomes are vesicles where purines and other compounds are degraded. In plants, they are necessary as photorespiration reactions (Pibretexts, 2020). In peroxisomes, hydrogen peroxide production is toxic to the cell and is rapidly degraded by an enzyme. Peroxisomes oxidize fatty acids.
Transport vesicles
They transport lipids and proteins between the ER, the Golgi apparatus, and the plasma membrane.
Microtubules
Microtubules are one of the protein filaments that make up the cytoskeleton.
The microtubules are composed of subunits of a protein called tubulin and often are used by the cell to maintain its shape. They are also the primary component of cilia and flagella. They are involved in the process of cell division and the movement of vesicles and organelles.
Actin filaments
These are proteins made up of globular subunits, and the filaments are part of the cytoskeleton.
