Analysis of the Sin of Suicide (Euthanasia)
Euthanasia is the intentional killing of a terminally ill patient who cannot endure the agony and suffering they are experiencing on a regular schedule. It is done on a patient who is terminally ill. Euthanasia, commonly referred to as mercy killing, is done to help patients in pain die instead of suffering (Wells, Frey & Cataldo, 2013).
It is executed at the request of the patient in some cases but sometimes when the patient cannot make decisions or is unable to communicate, the patient's family members, friends, and even the court get to decide on euthanasia. In some nations, euthanasia is legal, whereas, in others, it is prohibited by the law (Sumachev, 2020). On the other hand, physician-assisted suicide is when a patient commits suicide or self-death under the watch of a primary care physician or any other health practitioner to end their agony and suffering.
