According to the Institute of Medicine (U.S.) (2015), the fluctuating setting of health care systems and the adjusting profile of the populace of the United States needs essential shifts in the care delivery systems. The shortage of healthcare providers in the United States and the extension of insurance coverage under ACA (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) are some of the issues affecting the healthcare system. Additionally, in case advanced registered Nurses (APRNs) are given the authority to exercise the complete scope of their training, it can assist in building a strong workforce that will meet the needs of the clients (Institute of Medicine (U.S.), et.al). Additionally, they will be able to deliver community-based healthcare and patient-centered services.
The APRNs are vastly taught nurses who can deliver a wide range of healthcare services but they are restricted from doing so by federal policies, state laws, and institutional practices.
