Strengths:
Communication
Communication is a great strength in the nursing practitioner field because it aids in passing information regarding the various procedures that should be carried out on a patient. As well, it helps in keeping everyone up to date with whatever thing that is happening at the facility. To maintain this skill, I plan to effectively pass information as perceived to avoid minor errors that can affect the patient.
Pap smear
Pap smear is not a difficult procedure to carry out, and I have mastered everything involved. Therefore, I consider this as my strength due to the passion of wanting to help other people. I plan to carry out a lot of practice so that I can maintain the skills involved in Pap smear.
Rapid strep test
The Rapid Strep Test is a procedure that takes a very short time to carry out and does not involve a lot of activities (Mock, Donkor, Gawande, Jamison, Kruk & Debas, 2015).Therefore, this makes it my strength. The best way of maintaining this skill is by doing frequent practices so as not to forget what it entails. As well, maintaining the passion for helping other people will contribute greatly to the maintenance of this skill.
Weaknesses:
Biopsies
The process of carrying out a biopsy is not very pleasant especially due to the fact that it involves injections and surgeries. I plan to address this weakness by doing a lot of practice in order to eliminate the phobia of seeing blood or injecting a person. Also, talking to other nurses who consider it their strength will help a lot.
Suturing
