I believe the article reflects on how learners could use universal learning design (UDL) in higher education settings. It further traces the history of UDL back to the field of cognitive neuroscience and lays out the three tenets of UDL; the availability of various representations of information, the flexibility to convey knowledge in a variety of formats, and the opportunity to learn in a variety of ways (Rose et al., 2006). The authors also address how UDL has affected their course aims, resources, media, instruction, and evaluation strategies, such as online forums, lectures, textbooks, and course websites. The authors stress that the course is ever-evolving and that UDL principles are meant as tools or suggestions for college instructors, not hard and fast regulations. To address diversity and impairments as concepts of individuals and their environments, higher education recommends using UDL.
I also attest that Universal learning design (UDL) proactively creates a learning environment that is flexible enough to meet the demands of a wide range of pupils. When these potential obstacles are considered in advance, the learning environment is more welcoming to all students. Again, I concur that the goal of universal learning design (UDL) is to ensure that all students have access to a rigorous education by establishing a tiered system of support that corresponds with the progression of course material and student understanding.
