1. Reflect on a data analysis experience you've had with children in your previous field placement. What was the activity? What was successful about that activity and what would you change? Use Cook's article to support your response.
Data analysis is one of the culminating encounters of the first-degree program in school. Researchers suggest that it provides kindergarten students with an opportunity of applying relevant theoretical knowledge in both the classroom setting and while interacting with others both in school and at home. Arguably, most people aspire to join the teaching profession as a career. However, I realized that they have to endure numerous challenges while preparing and even reflecting on data analysis. In fact, the student-teacher relationship has to be of compassion, understanding, and respect (Cook, 2008, p. 538). For that reason, I would recommend that teachers ought to be mindful of the essence of a supportive student-centered pedagogy, especially on data analysis.
