The article is a well-written and elaborate explanation of how ethics seep into our personalities and society, but we do not always understand it. Instead of the outer exterior of ethics, the article goes deeper into understanding what ethics are and where they stem from. When it comes to the common good, some of us expect it to be an ethical consideration and a job one must perform to remain within those who do good for society and never do any wrong. However, that is not the reality of the matter. Common good depends on societal norms and one's priorities.
A person does not have a single personality because personalities are fluid, not static (Rosenthal, 2010). These identical elements play a crucial role in a person's action when working towards the common good while considering ethical boundaries. These elements always decide which set of values take precedence over others, and that is when one determines if the common good is something that they can focus on at the time.
Additionally, we can say that a person does good for society and themselves or a leader works towards a common goal when there is moral clarity; therefore, one must understand that morals come from norms. Moral norms are perceptive and aspirational. These norms change according to the context and the ethical understanding we have to do good. Moral standards also encourage the interpretation of one's personality, communicating with others in the same environment as yourself, and helping one understand the diverse culture that impacts other people's ideas (Sciences, 2022).
