This week, you were introduced to the purpose statement in a research study. In the last two weeks, we've also focused on ethical conduct in research and the introduction to research.
This assignment focuses on building a second research matrix similar to the one from Week 3. The content you will include in this matrix includes research concepts that can be found and connected to the same four research articles related to the topic selected for this quarter that are posted in the Announcements area of the courseroom.
Assignment Instructions
Fill out the Research Concepts Research Matrix Week 6 [DOCX] with research concepts connected to the topic selected for this quarter. Your instructor will provide the articles you are to use for this assignment in the Announcements area of the course room. A sample article is included in the matrix to demonstrate the level of depth and breadth of content you should include from the four articles you will read for this assignment. All content you include in your Research Concepts matrix should be summarized in your own words. The purpose statement for each article can be provided word-for-word from each article, however. Please use APA style and format for the citations and references in this assignment.

To analyze factors that make online graduate students successful in their educational journey.

Many graduate students are choosing online degree options while balancing work, school, and home lives and priorities. Over the last 20 years, online grad student enrollment has grown from 6% to 42% leading to the need to understand effectiveness of online education and learning.

The study included only two fields of study for master’s degree students. No attention was given to doctoral students or other areas of study limiting generalizability. An experimental design was not used so causality can not be demonstrated.

$15 gift card as incentive, project was funded by a faculty research grant to cover gift cards, RA pay, and faculty honoraria. Email recruitment invitation to target population, but anonymity of responses.

The study focused on business and education grad students. Expanding to other disciplines would be good moving forward. Future research could expand to other factors that might influence online graduate student success such as student expectations, type of support needed to balance life roles, and appreciation for the learning outcome regardless of the grade outcome. A more formal experimental design could be useful for deeper understanding of the relationships among the variable studied when comparing online and in-person graduate students.

Since COVID-19 has complicated the learning issue in Fiji, which could have massive impacts on the learning capacity of the students. The study will examine the learners' perceived causes of the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, the study focuses on the challenges facing online learning students during the pandemic in Fiji. The final aim is to analyze the strategies necessary to combat online learning challenges during the pandemic.

  
The spread of the Covid-19 pandemic contributed to the closure of learning institutions worldwide, including Fiji. As a result, the study aims to identify misconceptions and beliefs among learners. It also aims at looking at the online difficulties during the pandemic. The study also aims to gain insights into learners' coping strategies during the Covid-19 pandemic.
 
 

The study cannot generalize the results because of the purposive sampling when choosing participants for the research.
