Last semester, I observed ASL 1 and ASL Linguistic classes on zoom online. I learned through zoom when the teacher asked each student to tell their name while the interpreter used voice. For the ASL 1 class, the teacher gave each student an alphabet paper to practice at home every day. I realized that the use of zoom for learning ASL 1 is complicated for both teachers and students, except for learners with ASL Linguistic skills as they can use the sign language very well. Nonetheless, I learned how the technology works for teachers who use their lesson plan on PowerPoint. The teacher must ensure that every student pays attention and is also keen to respond to any student who wants to ask questions.
