Discourse Analysis
Discourse analysis is a method used in studying a language that explains how it shapes reality. The common approaches include variation analysis, conversation analysis, communication ethnography, interactional sociolinguistics, pragmatics, and speech arts theory. Besides, the features of sign language are turn-taking, conversational repair, discourse marker, constructing dialogue and action, cohesion and rhythm, rhyme, and repetition.
I noticed that deaf people consistently use turn-taking with overlaps. For example, an individual provides signs to another who does the same to the next person, and they know it is their tone after an individual withdraws. Deaf people use attention for effective communication, like waving, tapping, role shift, eye gaze, filling pauses, and repetition of signs.
I took a discourse analysis class in hearing class, CSULB, in 2020. However, I want to learn about ASL discourse analysis. I learned many aspects of discourse analysis because it is crucial to understand the importance of conversation. Besides, my teacher taught me how to use ASL transcription in hearing class. He wanted me to use ten minutes to fill ASL data transcription, which was complex but significant. It was tough for me to write everything, but ELAN is a better approach than writing the paper.

You have well-summarized bullet points. Secondly, I support your idea that turn-Taking has two ways of conversation. Deaf people tend to use turn-taking multi-tasks, for example, overlaps, signer, and taking the same time very often. I hope you noticed it. In my opinion, deaf people can sign with overlaps but hearing people cannot do it.
