Visionary leaders play an important role in moving the organizational agenda forward. According to Saba et al. (2016), visionary leaders empower their followers to not only attain the desired outcomes but also facilitate organizational change. This paper explores the impact of visionary leaders in two organizations; Google, a mature, high-profile organization, and Persefoni, a newly-formed organization.
Impact of Visionary Leaders on Google
Google is a high-profile company that was established in 1998 and continues to offer technological products such as Google Search, Gmail, and YouTube (Google, n.d.). It has continuously provided innovative products, allowing it to expand globally. Visionary leaders would have a potential impact on Google by driving change in a rather disruptive industry. According to Mascareno et al. (2019), visionary leaders show their followers how they want the future to look and influence them to make that future a reality. At Google, the future is technology, and since technology is constantly changing, Google needs to change continually as well. A visionary leader would ensure that Google keeps on innovating new products to maintain its competitiveness and keep up with changes in technological advancement. The leaders would achieve this by promoting a culture of innovation and taking strategic risks that will bring the desired change. In addition, employees would be more motivated to work with a leader who lays out a clear vision for them (Saba et al., 2016, increasing their productivity and overall performance. The job description of a visionary leader at Google would be as follows:

* Communicate goals and targets
* Manage the performance of employees
* Manage change as the need for change arises
