Lesson Summary and Focus:

In 2-3 sentences, summarize the lesson, identifying the central focus based on your teaching content and skills.
The focus of this lesson is to identify the patterns of the moon phases and describe their order. Students will learn how to use marks from the past to predict the future.

The class comprises ELL students, those with special needs, and early finishers. These categories of students have different learning styles, talents, and personalities, and presentation, application, and assessment of content will be differentiated for every student type.

In this lesson, students will demonstrate an understanding of moon phase patterns that can be observed, described, and predicted. They will also show the ability to use this knowledge to foretell future moon phases.

Learning objectives are designed to identify what the teacher intends to measure in learning. These must be aligned with the standards. When creating objectives, a learner must consider the following:
* Who is the audience
* What action verb will be measured during instruction/assessment
* What tools or conditions are being used to meet the learning
What is being assessed in the lesson must align directly to the objective created. This should not be a summary of the lesson but a measurable statement demonstrating what the student will be assessed on after the lesson. For instance, "understand" is not measurable, but "describe" and "identify" are.
