Initially, my views on ethics were partially different from what this unit has offered. I never thought that ethics covers some personal practices, even those which do not involve the society. This insight has enabled me develop a personal code of ethics that encompasses integrity and respect. This particular code of ethic will help me in decision-making especially when one is a leader. I agree with the ideas postulated by Rousseau in his theory of ethics. Most people’s wants are not founded on right and just. I also agree that the society evils are inherent to the unjust systems. The theory of parent as the educator to the child is valid. It is because the mother develops the system of order and dependability of the child, hence molding the child’s behaviors. Similarly, teachers are instrumental in shaping the student towards becoming a useful asset to the society rather than being problematic. Specifically, ethical studies determine how the students handle various school issues. In the dilemmas, ethics plays a critical part in deciding the best way forward.
