Are You Balancing the 7 Dimensions of Wellness?

Wellness is a dynamic process of becoming aware of and making conscious choices toward a more balanced and healthy lifestyle. It includes learning new coping and communication skills that address both the positive and negative aspects of human existence. Over the past decade, we have come to realize that survival of the "SPECIES" requires more than fitness. The concept of wellness includes seven dimensions.

Assess your current 7 dimensions of wellness by filling out the questions below, marking the choice that best reflects your current behaviour. Although this is not a scientific questionnaire, it will help you become more aware of your current level of wellness and what changes, if any, you might want to make.

As part of my social wellness, in a bid to create and maintain healthy relationships, sometimes I can manage to communicate in an honest manner and directly to try and resolve conflicts in my relationships in a timely and healthy manner. In most of the cooperate relationships that I have, they are often based on equal give and take (University of California, 2013). Other than that I always treat every person with respect. More often than not, I use the economic resources to support the social responsible choices. As such, I often tend to maintain a strong mutual and independent social support system.
As part of physical fitness, in the last eight months I have always maintained my flexibility and strength exercises for my muscles as well as taking my 30 minutes of aerobics daily. By extension the amount of food intake is always well balanced with the kind of exercises that I take, which has led to the a healthy range of fat, where not more than 20% of the calories that I burn on the daily basis comes from the body fat. Sometimes I take some 15 minutes to participate in activities that lead to relaxation responses, as part of the stress management strategies.
