Western garment manufacturers have outsourced production in low cost countries, where there is labor exploitation, especially Asia, where there are lax environmental and safety standards. The fast fashion industry is linked to negative environmental impacts from the manufacturing process of garments, the extraction of raw materials, manufacturing process, transportation, and product disposal.
