Persuasive Speech on Self-Esteem

Now that you've discovered the difference between informative and persuasive speaking, you've chosen your persuasive speech topic (your value) and have formulated your specific purpose statement, how about providing a "project update" for your classmates? We'd like to hear any additional plans you have for Persuasive "Values" speech.
So, in this part of the unit, we'd like you to develop and upload an informative speech video entitled: FORMAL PRESENTATION: "Values Speech" Update.
With this speech, you will tell your audience about the approach you plan to take for the upcoming persuasive values speech. So, take your time and--

Part I: Persuasive Speech
Many people have underestimated their worth, leading to poor self-esteem. It can be reassuring that there are others like them because when people think that they are not alone, they might become interested in exploring what is unknown to them on why their self-esteem damages their personality. This is why we should talk about self-esteem.
​Self-esteem is defined by its ability to impact one’s motivation, thereby eliciting a positive concept of oneself and others, allowing for an excellent understanding of their abilities, and having a sensible approach in life (Cherry, 2021).
​This subject is close to my heart because it made me who I am now, making me credible to talk about it. My life started with wild stories. As a youngster, I was disruptive of others, and I was pretty uncontrollable. All of these changed when a friend of my level pointed out that I lacked self-esteem. This friend helped me build up what I was missing, and from then on, my messy life gradually came in order.
​It was quite a difficult journey but changing for the better was exhilarating. As someone who had the experience, I would like to share how to overcome this weakness. You must recognize your values and balance them with how you see and should see yourself, then gradually favor the positive image (Mayo Clinic, n.d.).
​It is essential to have a good understanding of your true worth to prevent destroying oneself in life. As proven by my own experiences, the steps I have shared can help one raise self-esteem and prevent loss. Remember, self-esteem makes you whom you want to become.
