It is important to state that transaction processing systems are systems that collect, store, monitor and process data generated from the business transactions of the company. The transaction data acts as the input to the company’s database (Kelly, et al. 2007). Toyota Motor Corporation's has used transaction processing systems to help senior managers make important tactical decisions. An example of a tactical decision was the development of vehicle production system sometimes called "Just-in-Time (JIT) system," or "lean manufacturing system".
