A hypothesis is a set of prediction statements. In concrete terms, it explains what the researcher expects to find during their study (Eric, 2004). Not every study has hypotheses, and sometimes some studies tend to be exploratory. There are many hypotheses that need to be put to the test which in turn will help in the research of some very vital concerns.
A good example of the hypotheses that need to be tested is that the children who take vitamin C are vulnerable to illness during the cold flu season than those who don’t. Fall and winter are peak seasons associated with colds. Everyone believes that taking dosages of vitamin C will help fight the duration and severity of colds during this season.
