Not much literature exists on employee development and thus most organizations do not have the right metrics of measuring how much their employees are growing (Swanson, n.d.). The job task approach is one of the ways that organizations can measure their employees’ growth. The approach is rather traditional and most of the organizations have used it to establish their employees’ development over time. There are five basic steps that the approach embodies to gauge development in the employee base (Swanson, n.d.).
