Currency gambling is a risky endeavour. Being that the dollar is one of the strongest currencies, purchasing another currency requires good knowledge about the currency patterns in the foreign currency market and perfect timing in order to avoid losses (Bodie, 2013). At today’s exchange rate, the best foreign currency to purchase would be the Kenyan shilling due to its current state against the dollar. At an exchange rate of one hundred and three shillings to the dollar, I purchased the shilling and ended up with a total of one hundred and three thousand Kenya shillings. There had been reports that this was the highest the Kenya shilling could go in the foreign market.
After a few weeks, the Kenya shilling dropped to ninety six shillings against the dollar. This is when I converted my one hundred and three thousand shillings back to dollars and ended up with ten thousand, seven hundred and twenty nine dollars and seventeen cents. I made gains of seven hundred and twenty nine dollars. The reason why I chose this currency is that it has certain behaviours in the foreign currency market and hardly remains stagnant (Archer, 2012).
