Stem cells are the cells that we can easily differentiate from other types of cells and the ones that divide into multiple cells and can renew themselves to produce more and more stem cells. In mammals, two different types of stem cells are found, adult stem cells and embryonic stem cells. Embryonic stem cells are isolated from the internal cell mass of blastocysts at an early stage or during embryonic development. On the other hand, adult stem cells are those that can be found in different tissues and are fully developed. The issue is of great value for me because I want to study why and how stem cells are important for adults. The information I have collected so far reveals that in adults, stem cells act as a repair system for the body along with progenitor cells. Together, these cells replenish adult tissues. While developing an embryo, stem cells differentiate into specialized cells like ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm. They also maintain the normal turnover of regenerative organs like skin, intestinal tissues and blood. Stem cells provide great medical benefits and can help discover cures or treatments for some deadly diseases.
I have taken the position of describing the benefits or advantages of stem cell research because I believe that these cells are medically important and can help health experts discover various new things.
