Introduction
This essay introduces different cultural periods starting from 1250 up to the late 19th Century (Wright, 2011). The creative disciplines of human artistic output are explored with focus placed on Western World cultural development. As time passed from the Neoclassicism period up to Postmodernism and Deconstructivism period, there were significant revolutions in the art industry (Wright, 2011). Visual artists had a considerable influence on society, and their importance and contributions were much more appreciated. Artists were earlier viewed as regular craftsmen and laborers during the Neoclassicism period (Wright, 2011). Still, they later became valued as unique artisans able to gain social status and acclaims due to their talents. Artists made significant contributions in different sectors of the modern world due to their imagination and creativity. Art has been appreciated more from the time of Antonio Canova to the time of the likes of Daniel Libeskind (Wright, 2011). There has also been the evolution of the materials used in the work of art over the years, with significant improvements in the artists' quality of materials.
Visual arts became more appreciated as a communication tool rather than just a skill an individual possessed. Artists received more recognition over the years, and their work became valuable items to be cherished (Wright, 2011).
