Among the most outstanding leaders in the business and finance world, today who has made a positive impact is Brad D. Smith. Brad Smith is the CEO, President and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Intuit Inc. Brad was born in Huntington, West Virginia and grew up in Kenova. He attended Ceredo-Kenova high school where he was an active athlete and participated in football and later martial arts. He notes that martial art, in which he is a certified black belt, continues to play a major role in his leadership to date.
He graduated from high school in 1982 and went to the U.S. Military Academy West Point between the years 1982-1983. He joined the Marshall University in Huntington West Virginia and graduated in 1986. In 1991, he enrolled at Aquinas College, Grand Rapids, Michigan where he earned his master’s degree in management and leadership development.
Brad Smith has worked in various capacities for several companies including Pepsi Bottling Group, 7Up Co., Akron, and ADVO. He joined Intuit in 2003 and was appointed the CEO in January 2008. In January 2016, he was elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Intuit.
Intuit Inc. is a thirty-six billion dollars business and finance software company with products such as Quickbooks and TurboTax. It is considered an American hero as ninety-five percent of its revenue is from activities within the United States of America. Brad is responsible for Intuit’s brands that include TurboTax, ProSeries, Mint, QuickBooks, Lacerte, and Quicken. Intuit is one of the top 100 best companies in the world to work for and also among the most admired software companies worldwide.
