Grapevine is an informal communication network whereby employees and managers do not rely on formalities sending emails or other methods of communication. Managers and employees depend on spoken words. Grapevine is effective in an open and friendly environment especially in circumstances when managers when to reinforce messages of encouragement. Grapevine has a lot of benefits to the employees and managers in an organization (Roberts, 2015). Grapevine promotes social relationships between managers and employees. It assists in building up unity, integrity, and solidarity among them. It also boosts their morale. Compared to formal communication, grapevine is more convenient.
