What challenge(s) to human knowledge might this distinction pose? In your response, be sure to explain the “two-worlds” theory.

Plato proposed the two-world theory through his works, and mainly the Republic and Gorgias. He achieves this by creating distinctions between the intelligible world and the sensible world. The intelligible world entails what is not seen and can only be understood by the mind. On the other hand, the sensible world entails things that we can see, touch, and can be understood through the body. Therefore, the intelligible world is what leads to what we see in the sensible world. This thought poses numerous challenges to the human mind and the world as we may understand it from diverse perspectives. In the way humans relate with the environment, it is difficult to say that what manifests in the physical arises from the intelligible world. According to my understanding of how human knowledge works, there is a mutual interaction between the sensible and intelligible aspects that assist in creating new things. While the intelligible world may be the center where forms originate, the inspiration comes from what is observed in the external world (Karl).
This implies that the two world’s theory fails to establish a mutual relationship with the different aspects of the world. While the theory's assumptions may seem logical, they fail to establish whether the sensible world influences the intelligible world.
