Nicholas Carr's "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" (424-440) and Clive Thompson's "Smarter Than You Think: How Technology is Changing Our Minds For the Better" (441-461). Consider this discussion forum to represent a debate between these two authors.
Some of you will take Carr's side; some of should take Thompson's. Google has become an indispensable tool in our lives. Compared to previous generations, when people had to rely on dictionaries, atlas, or encyclopedia, the dominance of Google has brought tremendous changes in the way we seek the information that we need. However, as discussed in the article written by Carr, entitled Is Google Making us Stupid, I believe that due to the convenience brought about by this new search engine and the reduction of our reliance on our brains, Google has indeed made us relatively stupid.
