2 My position is that college athletes should be paid for their participation in sports rather than simply receiving scholarships or other forms of financial aid.
3 This is because college athletes put just as much time and effort into their sport as professional athletes. They are the driving force behind an industry that makes billions of dollars annually. In addition, for many athletes, the sport they participate in is their full-time job, on top of the demands of academics.
