R and K selective
R-selective and K-selective are strategies that different organisms use to reproduce in different environmental conditions. These strategies expose methods used by organisms to reduce mortality rates and are often discussed in the context of ecological and evolutionary biology. Although they have a similar goal, they also share several differences;

R-selective species can produce many offspring quickly because they have shorter gestation periods. They invest less energy and resources in each offspring, resulting in high reproductive rates.
