The attractor network of head direction is a concept that has significantly been researched in life sciences. The attractor network of the HDC is explainable based on their arrangement. Those cells with similar head directions are arranged closer to each other (Angelaki & Laurens, 2020). However, those with different distinctions always tend to be far from each other, which means that similar cells are attracted. The network can also be explained in synaptic connections, divided into the inhibitory and excitatory synapses. The neighboring head direction cells always have an excitatory synapse, while those away tend to have an inhibitory synapse. Therefore, it is essential to justify that the attractor network is generated based on the property of the cells.
