The evidence-Based Decision-Making model (EBDM) entails a procedure of making choices concerning a practice, program, or policy centered on the credible available research findings and driven by experimental evidence from the relevant field or contextual evidence. For example, I had an experience where the organization’s Human Resource (HR) manager resisted the need to implement the employee recognition system at the workplace citing efforts to ensure the workers do not become “complacent.” In so doing, the HR manager missed a chance to use the EBDM framework and enhance employee morale and performance. With the EBDM model, the manager sought other HR managers with experience with employee recognition to evaluate the impact it had on their subordinates. In addition, the manager researched data from scholarly studies concerning employee recognition systems’ effectiveness.
