Making friends seems like an easy thing that everybody should be able to do. However, growing up, this was the biggest challenge in my life. For some reason, I could not make friends. I struggled to make friends, and this resulted in me alienating myself from other kids. I kept to myself, and I could tell that even my family believed I had a problem. But, no one knew what was going on in my mind or thought to engage me on the same. It was assumed that I was a quiet kid or that my behavior resonated with my personality. However, when alone, I could make up characters, talk to myself, complete missions, and do other things that other kids thought it best to do with others. The funny or intriguing thing was that these characters had the names of my classmates in school.

Having a pet is something young children crave. For the most part, I wanted to have a pet while growing up. No one told me the responsibility that came with wanting to own a cat. My parents were too excited for me to ask why I wanted to have a cat. To them, my asking was enough, and they needed to act fast.
Well, how I got to ask for a cat is a funny story that continually cracks me up every time I remember it. Apparently, we were drawing pets in school, and our teacher said that she once had a cat that had a similar name as mine. I asked her why she would give a cat a person's name, and she told me that when you have a pet, you get to choose a name for it. I thought this was cool and thought that I would like to have a cat so that I could give it a name I liked.
