Photography Show in New York The New York photography show is currently on exhibition, with thousands of photographs available. The event has mainly been successful, and it has captured the attention of viewers and interested parties. Individuals interested in photography have found time to visit the show, either physically or online, with a taste of the show available at http://photographmag.com/exhibitions/. Although many of the photographs are exhibited for entertainment, some carry a rich history of political, social, and economic periods in the calendar of the United States. Arsenal Contemporary Art presented the first solo exhibition by Suzy Lake during the New York photography show, which is available at /ny/exhib/detail/performance-of-protest-suzy-lake. Performance of Protest is one of the outstanding works that Suzy Lake achieved during her successful career that lasted five decades ("Suzy Lake-Arsenal Contemporary Art" 1). The photography captures Lake's continued investigation of herself as a way of probing and resisting constructions of identity, gender, and beauty. Lake started her works during the 1960s, where she began documenting herself as she handled issues which were pressing the society during that time. Such issues included the relation of the female body to the broader social forces. She has consistently scrutinized such issues, albeit with wry scrutiny. 
 Suzy Lake's photography at the New York photography show is one of the major attractions. Her photography mainly focuses on the current resistance, which connects some of her best-renowned series. In most cases, the act of protest comes through such means as the artist's short comprehension and brilliant use and misuse of photography ("Suzy Lake-Arsenal Contemporary Art" 1). In some other cases, such resistance is evident in the confrontation between Lake’s own body and the understanding and reaction of the viewer.  During the 1976 series, which was dubbed Choreographed Puppets, for instance, Suzy Lake is suspended, surrounded by individuals who control the chords that tied to her legs and arms. The counteractive force that arises between the body of the artist and the individuals who are manipulating her movements is shown by the inherent tension that is evident in how the artist is restricted by the performative volition that she possesses ("Suzy Lake-Arsenal Contemporary Art" 1).Similarly, in another photography dubbed Imitation of a Self (1973), Suzy Lake tends to perform for her camera by applying makeup in a thick layer by starting with a white face. The title of her work and also the act represented by the work raises the question of the artist who is being emulated in this case. ...
