The Jewish calendar, also known as the Hebrew calendar, is based on different phases of the solar cycle and the moon. This calendar has a total of 385 days, and the new day begins at sunset. The Gregorian calendar, also known as the Western or Christian calendar, is based on Jesus’s birth. In the past, this calendar went through a significant number of changes. It consists of 365 days and a total of 12 months. The new day begins at midnight. The Islamic calendar sometimes referred to as the Hijri calendar, is based on the lunar cycle. It also consists of 12 months and 354 to 365 days. The new day begins at sunset.
The two great Islamic festivals are Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha. Eid Al-Fitr is celebrated right after the completion of Ramadan, and this festival is considered a gift by God for those who worship Him and keep fasts for 29 to 30 days. On the other hand, Muslims celebrate Eid Al-Adha on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah. This is the day when Hajj takes place, which lasts for four to five days. Muslims celebrate this day to memorize the sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ismael.
