Cultivating healthy relationship is a critical part of life. Everyone needs to relate well to people to live a satisfactory life. Growing up, I was not very outspoken, and I would tend to suppress my feelings as much as possible. I developed intellectual defense mechanisms to deal with my negative emotions.
