In the Exordium, the author expresses his admiration for Abraham’s faith in his writing. In the Bible, Abraham submits to God’s command to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice, which was a test of his faith. This happens after Abraham had to put his confidence in God through previous challenges. Abraham intended to place the blame on his son rather than on God by the way he presented the message to him. As a result, Isaac’s faith in God would be protected. The author breaks down the elements of faith using four different scenarios. The author claims that based on the examples, Abraham’s confidence in God caused his son to lose faith in him while also taking away his joy.
