Overcoming Challenge
When I was growing up, I always considered myself an invincible individual. I think that all people believe that they are capable of achieving certain things on their own. On one fateful afternoon, I was called and informed that one of my neighbors was involved in a severe accident and passed away. Tom was not just a neighbor but also a close friend whom we played and shared together. Losing someone we love and used to spend memorable moments with is something all of us do not want to experience. I felt Tom still had many years to live because he was young, energetic, and enthusiastic. We were agemates, and we had shared our aspirations about the future. Tom wanted to start his own music production company and settle overseas, in one of the developing nations in Africa, Asia, or South America. His intention was to use his career to assist artists from the underdeveloped world to market their music in the developed world. Through Tom's death, I reflected on my life and what I was really doing. I was saddened that he died so early and he had not accomplished a more considerable percentage of his dreams and aspirations. As I considered this challenge, I knew that I only had the present to impact the world.
