Binding Materials and Their Chemical Make-Up
Paintings have pigments that give them colors and sticky materials that bind together the particles of the stain and attach them to their applied substrates. The most known binding media are natural, produced by plants and animals. These binders can be classified differently according to the organic compounds they contain and their solubility in water.
