Now that I have reviewed a brief history of Western Civilization, especially the human side, I have developed a richer sense of the origins of my identity. The historical roots of Western culture in Europe started with ancient Greece and Rome and continued to progress with the emergence of Christianization through the Middle Ages. The later reformation and modernization of Europe ushered in the Renaissance period, and further globalization resulted in the emergence of European empires.
