As the economy of the US was experiencing a significant growth after World War II, Europe’s economy was not performing well particularly due to the aftermath of the war (OpenStax, 2019).  There was thus a proposal of the Marshall plan, a program to aid in the economic revival of Europe. The plan was effective in that Europeans nations had to work together to receive the aid, and they also had to purchase American goods.
