Description of the disorder

Endometriosis is a chronic disorder affecting adolescents and women of the reproductive age bracket. It is characterized by endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity, marked by chronic pelvic pain and infertility.

Fibroids, also called leiomyomas or myomas, are abnormal growths that develop intrauterine. These growths are typically benign, or noncancerous, or non-malignant. They are often clonal neoplasms of the uterus involving smooth muscle and fibroblast, and fibrous extracellular matrix, which all contribute to the pathogenetic process (Stewart et al., 2016)
