End-User Satisfaction of Health Information Systems
Clinical Information Systems (CIS) should be designed to support nurses’ routine practices. It is vital to understand end-user needs in IS to guarantee the successful implementation of the system by basing it on the proper design to enhance its technical performance and the willingness of the end-users to accept it (Karimi et al., 2019). The users’ continuance intentions and attitudes towards the information systems are linked to their satisfaction with the CIS. In addition, the increasing magnitudes of investments in CIS reiterate the need to understand the system end users’ needs, including clinicians’ satisfaction to avoid its failure in implementation context.
It is crucial to understand end-user expectations during Health Information Systems (HIS) design to augment the successful implementation of the system. Nurses could resist the system due to a wide range of technical issues and perspectives on the merits of using it, usability and flexibility issues, or the compatibility of the new system with their norms and values.
