This is a bacterial infection that leads to a buildup of pus in the teeth (base of the teeth) and gum as well as body tissues and is often accompanied with redness, pain and swelling. 2. What are the causes of infectionBacterial infection

The next step may include performing root canal procedures, tooth extraction and the use of antibiotics. If the abscess is caused by foreign objects these objects are removed from the gum.

7. Can you die from a dental infection? If so, describe how.
Yes one can die from the dental infection. In extreme cases abscess infection spreads and causes sepsis, where the immune system responds to an infection, but then causes damage to multiple organs. The risk of infections spreading to other parts of the body makes dental infections one of the life-threatening infections when there is no treatment.
