Age group: Toddlers. Task: My Apple Investigation
Intended goal: The participating kids will assess the different attributes, physical elements, color, and weight. They will utilize their acceptance letter or color recognition and motor proficiencies.
Materials:
• Balance scale
• Linking cubes
• Crayons
• Red, green, or yellow apples
Lesson Procedures:
Introduction of the lesson, passing out materials that include pencils, crayons, or papers.
Ensure that all kids are permitted to consume apples.
Inquire from the children what they perceive of the apple’s taste, whether it is salty or sweet.
The final task will include asking the kids about their thoughts on what weighs more between the apple and the cube and then testing the answers.
Developmental Appropriateness: Helps children explore the different tastes and their preferences.
RC II-2 Language and literacy
Age group: Toddlers. Task: Alphabet Sensory
Intended goal: Children will be using their fine motor skills and practicing the letters of the alphabet by playing with a sensory bin.
Materials:
Alphabet puzzle
Storage container/Sensory bin
Sand, dirt, or rice
Toy sand shovels
Lesson Procedures:
Set up a sensory table, exclude the letters, introduce the lesson, and explain that we will be looking for the alphabet letters in the sand.
Children can use a toy shovel or their hands to dig through the sand.
Have children place notes in the bin and cover them in sand themselves.
As children start finding the letters, help them sound out the letter and arrange them.
Once all letters are found, have children recite the alphabet song

RC II-3 Creative Arts
Age group: Mobile infants. Task: Body Paint
Intended goal: Children will paint an outline of their body and later paint the outline. All while learning about the different parts of their bodies (head, legs, arm, hands, etc.).
Materials:
Washable paint
Large sharpie
A long piece of paper (1 per child, or 1 per group of children)
Paper plates for paints
Painter’s tape
Paintbrushes
Lesson Procedures:
Introduce the lesson, ask questions about what they may know about their bodies, and explain what we will be doing.
Help children into their smocks and pass out materials.
