Introduction
* Special schools were established for learners but operated as residential or living quarters. In the middle of the 1920s, attitudes started to change as educators realized the importance of education and social engagement for people with disabilities. The timeline of the history and progression of inclusion will provide information on significant decisions that have been made, significant laws that have been enacted, the development of RTI, and my prediction of what inclusion will look like in future educational settings.

1954: Brown vs. Board of Education
* In 1954, the United States Supreme Court unanimously decided the important civil rights case Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas. Therefore, the state's authorization of public school segregation violated the 14th Amendment and was illegal. The landmark decision finally overturned the "separate but equal" norm. This decision was crucial in the growth of learning institutions nationwide and cleared the road for integration.

1972: PARC vs. Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
* Commonwealth of Pennsylvania v. Pennsylvania Association for Retarded Children (PARC) was a case that occurred in 1972. The court sided with PARC in their fight for equal opportunity for children with impairments.
