Immigrant Children in Canada
Canadian statistics
An approximation of 250000 families that settled in Canada in the year 2011 were immigrants and refugees. However, the number has been changing over the years with few family immigrants. This means that the number of immigrant children is reducing. Also, about 20% of the immigrants are children during the time of arrival in Canada (Boyd & Tian, 2016).

This makes it difficult for them to adapt to the new learning system. Also, they also become a burden to the parent because they have to ensure that such behavior is addressed to prevent the child from ending up in a bad company such as drug addicts (Cropley, 2017). The parents have to combine the behavior correction with education and, thus, it is costly and time-consuming.
As well, immigrant children find it difficult in maintaining their ethnic culture because they have to adapt to the new culture that they have been exposed to. Hence, this becomes a challenge in the early learning and care environment as the children try to do thi...
